I Can Relate To This!

Funny is funny and it may be impossible to define it further than that. However, one definition of what is funny may be when you are home alone and you see something on TV or the Internet and you break out in deep laughter, not being fed by someone else in the room who is laughing with you. Funny is also seeing yourself in a similar situation as what you're laughing about and you can personally relate to it. Earlier this week I received a video email from one of you regulars and the subject was a series of dogs doing insane things. While all were cute some were giggle out loud funny. One of them, though, brought me to my knees laughing.

This recent Labor Day we were all at the beach in NC and my grandkids were playing in the sand and every so often I would see several of them burying another in the sand. All you might see of the kid is his/her head sticking above ground level. The next door neighbor had a couple of Labrador retrievers and several times each day these dogs were permitted to run around on the beach. So, in my head are fresh memories of my grandson's head sticking out of the sand and a couple of large dogs running around.

Mixed in with the video I received was a beach scene just like I had witnessed several weeks ago. Kids playing in the sand, a young boy's head sticking out of the sand, and large dogs on the loose. Don't you know that one of those dogs was a male and with all natural purpose as his motive, he trotted right up to that kid's head, lifted his hind leg and marked his territory.

To some of you this may be just crude "potty" humor. But to me it was a genuine laugh out loud while being home alone moment. I'm still smilin'.
