Adena Grasses is my interpretation of the gentle rolling beauty of the Appalachian foothills and fertile wheat fields of Southern Ohio. There is something so familiar and calming when the wheat turns golden yellow and the wind moves through it in waves. It feels like home. Even in these big monochromatic yellow fields, color is everywhere. Peeking through the shadows, there is so much color...russets and plums...greens and tawny golds.
The painting is a 10" x 10" soft pastel painting on suede board.
