Zen Fields is one of my favorite pieces...it is a very simple painting that balances both movement and stillness. For me, it is peace...Zen. Sunlit fields like this abound in Southern Ohio, but so often, days are too hurried to notice them as anything but ordinary farm fields. But to stop...and listen to the soft grasses bending in the breeze...and appreciate the sunlight skipping over the surface of the grasses--like skimming stones on water. Extraordinary.
The original is 7" x 7" soft pastel painting on velour paper.
This painting was awarded Best of Division in Professional Pastel at the 2009 Southern Ohio Brush and Palette Art Guild Show.
